Chapter Three

Writing Project News and Prayer Requests

Wow, posting twice in the same month! About a week and a half ago, I posted “A Christmas List for the Christian Wife”, and now this! This return to writing for Chapter 3 Ministries was made possible because it is Christmas time, and therefore I’m taking a break from a major writing project that I’ve been working on.

Since I’m still on my break, I thought it might be a good time to share more about my project and update what’s happening at C3M. This post is also for my future self. It might be interesting to look back at this post someday and see how things worked out. […]

Simulcast Review Update

I have had a couple of inquiries about if and when there would be a follow-up post regarding the Living Proof Live simulcast from September 12, 2015. Since almost two weeks have passed since then, I thought it might be a good idea to give an update here.

After viewing the simulcast, I did decide that I would write a review. There is a lot to cover, and I am being careful in my analysis. It is taking time and my health situation comes into play too, but I do hope to have it ready in a few weeks. Please pray for me as I work towards presenting a fair and thorough review. There are definitely some things worth writing about that I hope to share with you. […]

Back from Hiatus

A lot has happened since the last time I posted on Chapter 3 Ministries. I’ve been very busy. My whole family has. Our daughter got married and graduated from college; and our son finished his homeschool years, graduating from high school. To make life more interesting, these momentous events corresponded with my husband’s busy season at work. Everything that goes along with these things caused me to take a temporary leave of absence. Well, I’m back. :)

A Temporary Change in Ministry

Back in January of this year, I wrote that 2015 was going to bring some special challenges. So far, things have gone as expected. The first three months have been especially difficult and busy for me and my family. On top of the normal challenges of work, school, and my health; we have also been preparing for a wedding and two graduations in May. Additionally, my husband’s father passed away in March. Needless to say, things have not been easy. But, our Lord is good. His lovingkindnesses never cease and his compassions never fail. (Lamentations 3:22) He has provided strength, comfort, and help for us. I’m thankful for all he provides.

The events of the past three months have affected the amount of time and energy I’ve been able to give Chapter 3 Ministries. […]

Expressing Thankfulness & The End Time Blog

In the past six and a half years that I have been mostly housebound and ministering online, I have “met” a lot of people. They have been from different cultural backgrounds and have held a variety of beliefs. Whether it was Muslims in Egypt, a humanist in the Netherlands, or a sister in Christ from the Midwest, the Internet has been great for connecting me with people from all over the world. Some individuals that I have met stand out quite clearly in my mind. They made a lasting impression. I know that will be true about a woman I met recently. Her name is Elizabeth Prata. She is the author of The End Time blog. […]

Ministry Update: One Year Anniversary

Today marks one year since I started working on a website for Chapter 3 Ministries. The time has flown by! I praise God that he has allowed me to do this work and that things are going well. Since my last update in July, I moved my site from WordPress.com to a self-hosted site, this one! The move gave me more control over design and a lot more features. Making this new site was fun. I really enjoy the website layout and design work for this ministry. Code is cool. The code files are just letters, number, and symbols; but when you go live with them, they shape the look and layout of the page. If you know what line(s) of code to change or what custom code to add, you can affect the changes you want. The first time I saw how it worked, I was amazed and hooked! […]

New Site for Chapter 3 Ministries

Welcome to the new home of Chapter 3 Ministries! I recently made the move from Chapter 3 Ministries on WordPress.com to chapter3min.org. I am excited about the opportunities this brings. I invite you to take a look around.

My next few posts will be posted here and on my old website. I am doing this to provide readers a few opportunities to connect with me here. After that, I will no longer be posting there and will set up a redirect. […}

Introducing New Blog Contributor

It is with great joy that I welcome Judy Bourret as a new contributor to the Chapter 3 blog. Judy is a beautiful woman of faith who brightens a room as soon as she enters. Her optimism is contagious and her gentle kindness is inspiring. I have no doubt her posts will be a blessing. She is a faithful Christian who seeks the will of God in all areas of her life. […]

From the Couch

When I started this website I did not intend to write about my health situation. Though it does deeply impact my life every day, it was not what I wished to focus on. Recently my husband Butch suggested that it would be ok to write about it every now and then. I’ve thought about it, and I’ve become more comfortable with the idea. Sharing some of my experiences about this trial will allow me to testify to God’s mercy and grace. Through all my suffering, he has been my rock and my shield. He has provided for me in many ways. I am happy to share the details about that to his glory. […]

Ministry Update

It’s been four months since I began working on the Chapter 3 Ministry website! I’m happy with the progress that has been made and with the direction things are going in. This work is a delight for me. I thank God for this opportunity. I love computers, software, writing, the Lord, and his people! It’s wonderful to combine them all together. […]

English Bible Quest Opens Today

Today I took down the “Coming Soon” sign on my English Bible Quest page. I’m excited that it is ready! Beginning in the fourth century and ending in modern times, the quest highlights some of the important people and events that played a part in the process of God’s word becoming available to English speaking people in their native language. […]

Why Chapter 3?

“Why Chapter 3?” is really two questions. The first is “Why is this ministry called Chapter 3 Ministries?” The second is “Why does this ministry exist?” Chapter 3 Ministries gets its name from 1 Peter chapter three. The idea for the name came to me when I noticed that 1 Peter chapter three contains verses about two subjects that have long been dear to my heart, the role of the Christian wife (1 Peter 3:1-6) and defense for my faith (1 Peter 3:15). […]
