Time flies! It has been four years since the publication of the print copy of my Bible study on the Deity of Christ. To celebrate this 4-year anniversary, I am giving away 4 copies of A Zero Fluff Bible Study for Women: The Deity of Christ. See post for details.
Part of the role of older women according to Titus 2:3-5 is to encourage young women to love their children. There are many ways that older women can do that. One way that might get overlooked is encouraging young women to love their children by teaching them how to defend their faith. […]
Going to church, a Bible study, or a Christian conference? About to start a Christian book, listen to a Christian podcast, or read a Christian blog post? Whatever Christian content you are about to take in, don’t forget your Bible, discernment, and this guide. They can help you to avoid or escape the snare of false teachings. […]
Some people hold to the idea that Christians are meant to have prosperity, health, and happiness. It is also believed that Christians can expect to have things go their way in life; they just need to believe and receive. […]
I have an announcement. After a lot of praying and weighing of options, I have decided to turn most of my writing energy towards a major project that I have wanted to finish for years. Though I will be posting less often while I work on my big project, I’m not planning on stopping all together. […]
I am happy to announce that a book version of my Zero Fluff Bible study on the deity of Christ is now available! There is also a Kindle version. Both versions can be found on Amazon. The print and Kindle versions have been updated. They have been edited for grammatical improvements and include an added detailed outline of all the verses in the study! […]
This is the last lesson in our study! Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Though this is the final lesson, it need not be the end of studying this aspect of our Lord Jesus Christ. There is always more to learn, and we must always seek to grow in our knowledge of Him. (2 Peter 3:18)
In this lesson, we are going to consider some of the incommunicable attributes of God. We will apply them as a sort of litmus test. For if Jesus is God, we would not be surprised to see and would even expect to see incommunicable attributes of God attributed to Him. Does the Bible show that Jesus has attributes like omnipresence, eternality, immutability, and others? We shall soon see.
For our purposes in our study on the deity of Christ, we can use what the Bible reveals about God to help us determine if Jesus is God. For if Jesus is in fact God, then we would expect the biblical record to show works of God done by Him and attributes of God displayed in Him. We would not have to see all of God’s works and attributes in Jesus, but we would expect to see some. So did New Testament writers record that Jesus did the works of God and did they write that He had the attributes of God? Let’s take a look.
Welcome to Lesson 6! This lesson contains a collection of verse sets that I refer to as “the ONLYs”. Each set covers something that is said to be true only of God. Hence the name! We are going to look at six things about God that the Bible tells us only apply to Him. God is God after all. It is right that He is unique! This uniqueness also helps us when we are considering the deity of Christ for if any one of the six things were attributed to Him, that would point to His deity. And if all six were? Simple logic would dictate this conclusion: He is God!
Welcome to Lesson 5 of A Zero Fluff Bible Study on the deity of Christ! We have four more illuminating verse sets in this lesson that demonstrate the deity of Christ. These sets pair verses from the books of Psalms and Zechariah with verses in the New Testament.
Welcome to Lesson 4! This lesson continues with “verses sets” that demonstrate the deity of Christ. As explained in the previous lesson, verse sets are made up of two or more verses that, when read in light of each other, give evidence that Jesus is God. This lesson contains three verse sets that happen to be some of my favorites. They all pair verses from the book of Isaiah with verses in the New Testament. The book of Isaiah has a lot to say about Jesus!
Welcome to Lesson 3 of A Zero Fluff Bible Study on the deity of Christ! This study continues by shifting focus to a second category of verses. Category Two consists of a special collection of “verse sets” that give evidence to the deity of Christ. I remember when I first discovered that the Bible contained these special sets. What joy they brought! I pray that you find them to be just as edifying as I did, and that they lead to praise and worship to the glory of God.
Welcome to Lesson 2 of A Zero Fluff Bible Study on the deity of Christ! This lesson will continue with Section One of our study: singular verses that demonstrate the deity of Christ. Please remember to look the verses up in context, especially if you are unfamiliar with them. Also remember, there is no rush. Take your time so that you can get the most out of the material. Please take a moment to pray, get your Bible, and then let’s begin!
Welcome to Lesson 1 of A Zero Fluff Bible Study on the deity of Christ!
We will begin our study by examining singular verses that demonstrate the deity of Christ. Reading these verses alone (in context of course) shows that Jesus is in fact God. These are primary texts on this topic, for they address the matter clearly and directly. They don’t leave you wondering about the identity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I invite you to join me and walk through some significant biblical evidence for the deity of Christ to the glory of God.
This will be a Zero fluff study. It’s the only way I know how to offer it. This means it will not be like the many studies, books, and teachings that are geared towards women today that are heavy on fluff and light on sound doctrine. We will dig deeply!
I hope you join me. This study will not disappoint!
See information in this post about a new Bible Study that will be starting tomorrow!
In my previous post, I shared the back story of how I got started in apologetics. I’m curious about yours. Do you have an origin story to a life of apologetics? I’d love hear about it in the comment section. Your story would be an encouragement to me and to others as well. If you do not have a story, how about beginning today? There’s no time like the present to begin the work of an apologist! For some guidance in this area, please see the suggestions in this post.
Studying the Bible is key to a healthy Christian life. Together with the work of the Holy Spirit, knowing and obeying God’s word helps us to live lives that are more pleasing to Him as we submit to His will. His word can also protect us from or free us …
Have you ever had the opportunity to study the doctrine of justification before either at church or on your own? If not, I would like to encourage you to learn more about it. It can lead to deeper joy as you come to understand the gospel better, and it can be a part of being ready to give a defense for the hope that is in you. (1 Peter 3:15) […]
Work towards knowing God more every day as much as possible while on this earth. (Colossians 1:10) Pray for your sight to increase. Know Him in Jesus Christ, for He is the image of the invisible God. (Colossians 1:15)
