Have you ever heard a Christian say that there is only one way to heaven or that there is only one way of salvation? I hope so. We say this not because we made it up. We didn’t invent it, though there are countless inventions of the sort in the world. [...]

Do you remember a time when you were overcome by sudden fear? Maybe when you were little and felt that overpowering need to tuck your bare feet under the covers so the scary thing under your bed couldn’t grab them? Or maybe when you were an adult and heard that your son or daughter had[...]
They walk in the darkness, in a Dark Land, on paths long and crooked and oh so slippery. Stumbling. Always stumbling. Over what? They don’t know. They can’t see it. The darkness, it’s too thick. It blinds them, but they don’t want to look down anyway. They want to continue; and so they do, stumbling, staggering, groping in the dark.
Although my testimony could be summed up with the much loved words “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me”, there are more details I like to share. Today, I’d like to share another small part of my story. For some reason, my testimony tends to be a bit long. Maybe it’s because I cherish every single event that led up to coming to know God and those events occurred over years. I’ve yet to write it all down; but I like to share what I can, when I can, to God’s glory.
I never tire of hearing the testimonies of others, for in them are glimpses of the power and work of God. If you have yours posted online and would like to share it, please put the link in a comment below. I would love to read it. [...]
When I started this website I did not intend to write about my health situation. Though it does deeply impact my life every day, it was not what I wished to focus on. Recently my husband Butch suggested that it would be ok to write about it every now and then. I’ve thought about it, and I’ve become more comfortable with the idea. Sharing some of my experiences about this trial will allow me to testify to God’s mercy and grace. Through all my suffering, he has been my rock and my shield. He has provided for me in many ways. I am happy to share the details about that to his glory. [...]
Easter Sunday is tomorrow! Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus fills my heart with joy. Believing in the resurrection of Jesus is at the heart of what it means to be a Christian. The apostle Paul put it this way: “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;” (Romans 10:9) Jesus is my Lord, and I believe that God raised him from the dead. I rejoice in this every day of the year. There was a time when I did not believe in the resurrection or in God for that matter. I spent many Easters simply celebrating a holiday. [...]
As I mentioned in my previous post, the anniversary of my new birth falls on Thanksgiving this year! I love it when that happens. I would love to tell the whole story right now about how I came to know the Lord, but it is a long story. I hope to write it out someday. Today, I would like to tell part of the story. I think it is a pretty cool part. I came to Christ and out of the domain of darkness (Colossians 1:13) in the darkness. What I mean is, it was night time. That night, after I was given eyes to see the sacrifice for my sins in Jesus’ death and my heart was opened to believe in him, I was filled with incredible joy. [...]
