Advice from someone on “lockdown” for over 11 years
Quarantined because of COVID-19? On lockdown in your state or country? Can’t go out? Now you know, sort of, what it’s like to be me. Except, I have an eleven year head start. […]

This is part two of my review of Beth Moore’s 2015 Living Proof Live Simulcast. Please see part one here. Part one contains a general overview of the simulcast and my response to the teaching that we should make Jesus the supreme romance of our lives. You may also wish …
With the early-bird discounted rate deadline for booking the 2016 Living Proof Live Simulcast fast approaching (November 15), I thought it might be helpful to have a streamline list of the voluminous amount of information regarding the issues surrounding Beth Moore’s ministry, issues that might affect ones decision about booking or not. This list is in no way exhaustive, but it does hit some major points. The information below was gathered carefully and prayerfully over time. This work was not done speedily, shallowly, or flippantly. To me, this is all quite serious. Making this list gives me no joy. My heart weighs heavy with concern. That is my motivation not any dislike for or judgment against Mrs. Moore personally. She appears to be very likable. This is about her teachings. (Acts 17:11) […]
This is a companion post to 2015 Living Proof Live Simulcast Review Part One. I recommend reading that post first to give this information better context. In it I respond to a main teaching given by Beth Moore during the simulcast. It was one of six “mighty makers”. Mighty Maker #1 “The audacity to make an unseen Savior the supreme romance of your life.”
The teaching surrounding this “mighty maker” was a proposal given to us by Mrs. Moore to enter into a supreme romance with Jesus. According to Mrs. Moore, that is what we were created for. The idea of romance with Jesus stuck me as unbiblical right away. I tested it biblically and ended up retaining my first impression. I could have let it go at that point; but I’m the curious type. I wondered if anyone else was teaching this same thing. I opened my browser and started doing some research. […]
This is part one of my review of Beth Moore’s Living Proof Live simulcast that aired on September 12, 2015. It is a follow-up to my posts Evaluating Beth Moore’s Upcoming Live Simulcast and Class on Discernment: Living Proof Live Simulcast. This a review about the teachings presented at the simulcast, not a judgment about Mrs. Moore personally. My purpose is to evaluate the teachings biblically for my sake, for the sake of the women who watched the simulcast, and for the sake of any woman who is interested in these matters. […]
Beth Moore’s Living Proof Live simulcast is quickly approaching. It is scheduled to air September 12, 2015. Many churches have signed up to participate along with women who will watch from home. If you are one of that number, I invite you to do something as you watch. I invite you to turn the simulcast into a class on discernment. This means, we will use the simulcast to practice the ability to confirm truth and detect error in a Bible message or teaching. Some may feel it is unnecessary to do that with a Beth Moore event since she is so established and well liked as a Bible teacher. I would respond that it is always necessary to be discerning at every event or service where God’s word is taught. It is necessary even when the preacher you’ve sat under for 20 years gets up to preach.
Discernment is so important for our spiritual well-being. It is our Biblical responsibility. (1 John 4:1) The example of the noble-minded Bereans encourages us to do as they did. (Acts 17:10-11) […]
I have decided to take another break from my series about submitting in everything to write about something that is time sensitive. It is in regards to the upcoming Living Proof Live Simulcast that is scheduled for September 12, 2015. Beth Moore promises an audacious message. The theme for this year’s simulcast is connected to her new book Audacious. […]
The following is a continuation of my review of Beth Moore’s September 13, 2014 Living Proof Live Simulcast streamed from Fort Wayne, Indiana. You may read Part One here and Part Two here. I recommend reading them in order. Part Three takes a look at the topic of personal revelation. It is the final post in this series. It will review some revelations that were shared during the simulcast as well as references to receiving “a word” from God. It is not surprising that these things would come up during the simulcast. Beth Moore has repeatedly claimed to receive personal revelations over the years. This has been addressed and documented by various people and ministries. Here are a few examples. […]
This is Part Two of my review of Beth Moore’s September 13, 2014 Living Proof Life Simulcast streamed from Fort Wayne, Indiana. You may read Part One here. I recommend reading them in order. This part of my review takes a look at Beth Moore’s problematic practices of Bible interpretation. The kinds of problems that exist are the practices of eisegesis, proof texting, and the allegorizing of the scriptures. I became aware of these problems when I first grew more familiar with her and her ministry back in August. If you have been following my posts about this you might remember that I decided to learn more about her because our local church was going to be hosting a Living Proof Life Simulcast. Since I had only heard her name and was unfamiliar with her material, I decided it might be a good idea to check things out. I did some research which lead me to articles that listed a number of problems including those in the Bible interpretation category. […]
Back in August, I wrote a post called A First Look at Beth Moore. It was the result of my first exploration into the ministry and teachings of Mrs. Moore, an exploration that turned up a number of problems. Please see that post for why I began looking into her ministry and what I discovered. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to become more acquainted with Mrs. Moore. I did more reading online and revisited her website. While there I discovered that it was possible to sign up and watch her Living Proof Live simulcast from the comfort of my own home. I was interested in the simulcast because I knew it was scheduled to be aired at our local church in a couple of weeks, and it seemed like a good way to follow-up and examine her ministry more. Since I would not be able to see it at church because of my health situation, being able to stream the simulcast on my laptop was very convenient. […]
Beth Moore is a name that many women are familiar with. She is the founder of Living Proof Ministries and the author of many books and Bible studies. Her name is familiar to me as well. I have heard her name off and on through the years, though I have not taken any of her studies. I do know women who have used her material. Some of those women participated in studies offered through the Women’s Ministry at our church. I never pursued her studies there because they didn’t appear to be the kind of studies that I prefer. Recently, I became a lot more interested in Mrs. Moore. This is because I learned that on September 13 our local church is going to be hosting a live Beth Moore simulcast. […]
