The
printed
text in
our Bibles
may look
ordinary, but
the Scriptures
are supernatural.
God’s word, a sword
like no other, can
pierce the division
of soul and spirit and
judge the thoughts
and intentions of the
heart. That’s supernatural
and terrifying and awesome!
We serve a holy God and
His word is beyond precious!
By God’s will and hearing
the word of Christ, faith comes!
And once supernaturally awoken
to newness of life in Christ, the
believer richly benefits by the Scriptures
for they are exceedingly profitable. Its books, chapters,
and verses impact our hearts and
minds in countless
ways as God works
in us and we
obey His word.
How blessed we
are whose path
is lit by it. Is it any wonder
we are told to let the word of Christ
dwell richly within us?
“For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:14-17)
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16)
